Community Health Network, Johnson Memorial Hospital, break ground on new medical facility
Stones Crossing Health Pavilion to open in mid- 2013
Officials from Community Health Network and Johnson Memorial Hospital broke ground today on a three-story medical facility, Stones Crossing Health Pavilion, which will house a multitude of outpatient services. Located on State Road 135 just south of Stones Crossing, the facility and services it offers aims to improve healthcare access for residents of Johnson County, while also boosting economic development in the area.
Following remarks by Tony Lennen, president and CEO of Community Hospital South, and Larry Heydon, president and CEO of Johnson Memorial Hospital, several picked up shovels to dig the first ground for the project, including officials from Alderson Commercial Group, Inc., the project’s developer; Jon Fohrer, CEO of Community’s ambulatory services; Tony Lennen, president, Community Hospital South; Mills, Heydon and members of the local community.
The health pavilion will house the most comprehensive imaging services in the area, including MRI, CT, mammography, x-ray, and bone density testing. The pavilion will also offer primary and specialty care physicians, rehab and sports medicine services (including adult and pediatric rehabilitation), and lab services.
“Residents throughout Johnson County will now have access to state-of-the-art, high quality healthcare, in a convenient outpatient location,” said Fohrer. “This joint partnership between Community and Johnson Memorial will allow us to bring exceptional care to patients closer to home.”
Stones Crossing Health Pavilion, a 70,000 square foot facility, is scheduled to open in the summer of 2013. The cost of the project is $14 million.
