Best friends, peers, and new mothers Drs. Carrie Smith and Virginia Takagi join the Johnson Memorial Hospital Physician Network as OB/GYNs. They join Drs. John Norris and Emily Cline at the Johnson County Women’s Group. The group moved to a new office on the second floor of Johnson Memorial’s $14 million expansion of the Surgery Department on the hospital’s south side off of Hospital Road.

Drs. Smith and Takagi both completed their OB/GYN residencies at IU Health.

Dr. Smith, her husband, and children reside in Greenwood. Before entering medical school, Dr. Smith was a school teacher.

Dr. Takagi attended the University of Rochester where she met her husband. Takagi, her husband, and son live in Bargersville.
