Johnson Memorial Hospital has appointed Dr. Virgilio Chan, a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist, as the new Medical Director of the hospital’s acute rehab unit, Todd Aikens Rehabilitation Center.

Dr. Chan completed his medical education in the Philippines. His residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation was completed in 2004 at Rush University Medical Center, in Chicago, Illinois.

During his final year of residency, Dr. Chan was selected the chief resident of the program at Rush University Medical Center.

Dr. Chan is Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is affiliated with OrthoIndy, a large, Indianapolis-based group practice of bone, joint, spine, and muscle and rehabilitation specialists. OrthoIndy has over 70 physicians.

Dr. Chan is an active member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Association of Academic Physiatrists.
