Breast Care Center
Features
- Two state-of-the-art mammography suites.
- Private, gowned waiting and dressing rooms.
- Stereotactic breast biopsy technology that offers computer assisted imaging to guide a tiny needle into the breast to obtain a sample of the tissue in the area under examination. The tissue is then tested and evaluated by a board-certified pathologist to confirm diagnosis. This provides patients with a minimally invasive, non-surgical option for breast biopsy.
- Core breast biopsy and breast aspiration procedures.
- Breast ultrasound.
- Free Women’s Touch mammopad for every woman tested at the Center. The pads have shown to reduce by half the discomfort many women feel during a mammogram.
- Certified mammography technologists.
- Board-certified radiologists whose specialty is the diagnosis of breast disease.
- Board-certified surgeons trained in breast surgery. One of those surgeons, David Wipperman, M.D., serves as the Medical Director of the Breast Care Center.
- Other services: the center also provides bone densitometry and gynecologic ultrasound services for women. Bone densitometry testing is designed to measure the mineral content of the bone as a way to screen patients for the detection and treatment of osteoporosis.
