Johnson Memorial Health has partnered with the Indiana State Department of Health's Tobacco Prevention and Cessation (TPC) program since 1999 and stands beside Tobacco Free Johnson County to support TPC's vision to significantly improve the health of Hoosiers and to reduce the disease and economic burden that tobacco use places on Hoosiers of all ages.

Tobacco Free Johnson County is a TPC community-based program that coordinates local efforts to:

  • Decrease Indiana youth smoking rates
  • Increase proportion of Hoosiers not exposed to secondhand smoke
  • Decrease Indiana adult smoking rates
  • Maintain state and local infrastructure necessary to lower tobacco use rates and thus make Indiana competitive on economic fronts
