FRANKLIN, IN - Johnson Memorial Health today supports Health Records on iPhone, which brings together hospitals, clinics and the existing Apple Health app to make it easy for patients to see their available medical data from multiple providers whenever they choose.
Now, patients who have signed up for the MyJMH patient portal can access details of their medical records by using the convenient iPhone Health app, available for download at the App Store. (The app is pre-installed on devices running iOS 8 or higher).
Previously, patients’ medical records were held in multiple locations, requiring patients to log into each care provider’s website and piece together the information manually. Apple worked with the health care community to take a consumer-friendly approach and created Health Records based on FHIR (Fast Health care Interoperability Resources), a standard for transferring electronic medical records.
Now, patients will have medical information from participating institutions organized into one view, covering allergies, conditions, immunizations, lab results, medications, procedures and vitals, and will receive notifications when their data is updated. Patients can access Health Records from within the Health app and can download their health records by selecting Johnson Memorial Health and authenticating with their MyJMH patient portal username and password. Health Records data is encrypted and protected with the user’s iPhone passcode, Touch ID or Face ID.
“Johnson Memorial Health is committed to making it easy for our patients to access their records in the most efficient way possible,” said Dr. David Dunkle, President and CEO of Johnson Memorial. “In partnership with Apple, we will provide our patients with a user experience that is convenient and intuitive.”
